Bag in Box Line for Packaging Semi-Liquids | Lined Case Packaging
This is an ideal bulk packaging solution for semi-liquid products such as shortening, margarine, butter, and similar items. Unlike standard bag-in-box packaging, which includes a spout and a fitment, this system produces spoutless bag-in-box packages. The line performs the following operations: erecting cartons, sealing their bottoms, inserting and lining the cartons with poly bags made from roll stock film, weigh-filling the bags with semi-liquid product, applying a slight vacuum and heat-sealing the bag tops, and finally sealing the carton tops.
The bag-in-box line consists of a carton erector, a poly bag inserter (box lining machine), a weigh filling machine, a bag uncuffer and top sealer, a carton sealer, conveyors, and an optional palletizer. Cartons can be sealed with either tape or hot-melt glue, depending on packaging requirements.
The poly bag inserter, also known as a box lining machine or case liner placer, is designed to efficiently line boxes with one poly bag each, ready for bulk packaging. The machine dispenses film from roll stock, cuts and seals it into a bag, opens and cuffs the bag over the carton flaps, and blows air to expand the bag for a snug fit against the box internal walls.
This bag uncuffer and sealer is designed to heat-seal poly bags inside boxes after products are loaded or filled. The machine uncuffs the bags from the carton top flaps, stretches the bag openings, applies a light vacuum to prevent ballooning, heat-seals the bags, and then flattens them within the carton.
